Meet Dr. Lawson-Myers

Who Is Dr. Lawson-Myers?

Hello! I am Dr. Heather-Dawn Lawson-Myers.

I grew up in Jamaica and returned here to practice dentistry.

I have been a Dentist for over two decades.

In that time I've had the pleasure of training countless Dental Assistants who have gone on to have successful careers across the globe.

But let me back up.

I received my dental training from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C.

I then practiced dentistry in the United States for a number of years.

But my desire was always to return to Jamaica.

I was able to do just that after purchasing Liguanea Family Dental in Kingston.

Together with my dental team, we serve a broad cross-section of patients in the Kingston and St. Andrew metropolitan areas, where significant emphasis is placed on exceptional quality dental care and optimum customer service.

I am an active member of the Jamaica Dental Association.

I have served my professional association holding numerous positions including three terms as President and three as Vice President.

I have served as Chairperson of the organization’s 38th, 45th and 57th International Annual Conventions.

I am proud to share that I hold the distinction of being the first and only female Chairperson of the Dental Council of Jamaica.

Prior to that, I served the council for six years and have held various positions, including Chairperson of the Dental Board of Examination Committee and Chief Dental Examiner.

Who is Dr. Lawson-Myers when she isn't practicing dentistry?

I am the proud mother of son, Jarell, and daughter, Shauna.

I am actively involved with the Liturgical Dance and Women’s Ministries at the Swallowfield Chapel where I worship.

I also enjoy participating in modern dance classes, walking in the early morning, and entertaining friends and family during my leisure time.
